At about 9 o’clock on June 24, an important guest to a
large-scale conference in Zhejiang Province was “injured” in the wild.
To grasp the precious time for rescue in this emergency, a Bell 429 helicopter
came to the spot. The injured was carried to the helicopter and delivered to a
nearby hospital in about only 10 minutes. Immediately, rescuers pushed the stretcher
to the cabin door and moved a “seriously injured” guest who was in coma to the ground
stretcher and sent to the emergency room. All the moves were smooth, standard
and skillful.
This is not a movie plot. It is a golden card of
Hangzhou jointly presented by Xiya Helicopter Airlines Co., Ltd. (Air Xiya) and
Ramunion for world leaders at G20 Summit. The rescue drill was safe,
standardized, swift and orderly. It took less than 20 minutes, which secured
the best treatment time for the injured.
It is learned that Bell 429 helicopter, which
participated in this drill is priced at nearly USD 8 million, with maximum
range of 648 kilometers and maximum speed of 263 kilometers per hour. It is the
light twin-engine helicopter with the largest cabin in the world. The cabin is
equipped with 8 seats. The easily separable chairs enable flexible reset of
cabin structure. When used in medical treatment, the reset cabin can
accommodate two stretchers and a number of medical personnel.
